What is PatternMaker?

PatternMaker is a program that allows you to make custom clothing patterns. Here are some of the main features of the software:

  • No pattern making experience is necessary, you can purchase a "macro" (mini computer program that contains the pattern).
  • The pattern is custom made to the measurements you enter into the computer.
  • Print out the pattern on any printer or plotter.
  • Change the pattern in the computer or on the paper pattern.
  • Scan patterns from books, import them into PatternMaker and scale them up and down.
  • Create your own macros with MacGen (Macro Generator).
  • Most of all, it's fun to use!

The PatternMaker software is available for a free 30 day trial download. The trial program comes with a free women's trouser pattern, fitting bodice and collars.

Once your 30 days are up, the trial version functions as a "reader" and allows you to print out custom patterns from the pattern macros, but does not allow you to make changes in the pattern. About registration.

System Requirements

PatternMaker runs on Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP.  Any computer that can run Windows 95 will run PatternMaker.  The program installs in under 10 MB of disk space, and pattern files typically take about 100K bytes.  Macros or other optional installation components require additional space.

To use a digitizer the digitizer needs a WinTab driver along with the Grading Studio or Marker Studio.
