Yes, you can run PatternMaker on your Intel Mac computer! Leopard or BootCamp requires a legal copy of Windows to be installed on a separate partition on your hard drive. You would boot to this partition when you start the computer and then install PatternMaker into Windows. Once you’ve booted your computer into Windows, install the software from the "PatternMaker for Windows" page. PatternMaker then runs just like it would on a PC, as it is running in Windows and uses Windows shortcuts. While we will support PatternMaker once you've got it running inside Windows, we can't help you get Windows on your Mac. Parallels or VMWare Fusion creates a Virtual Machine or a computer within a computer. This also requires a legal copy of Windows to be installed. Open your copy of Windows inside of your Virtual Machine and then either re-insert the disc or navigate to index.htm from inside Windows. Install the software from the "PatternMaker for Windows" page. PatternMaker then runs just like it would on a PC as it is running in Windows and uses Windows shortcuts. While we will support PatternMaker once you've got it running inside Windows, we can't help you get Windows on your Mac. However, the solution we recommend is a Mac/Windows compatibility tool called CrossOver Mac, which will allow PatternMaker to run without the need for a Windows operating system license. PatternMaker has been extensively tested on CrossOver Mac and has been shown to perform almost the exact same as on a Windows PC. There are a few different things that will be highlighted in this manual (mostly keyboard shortcuts). Because you don't have to have a full copy of Windows; there is no huge decrease of hard drive space. And because you aren't running two full operating systems, there is no decrease in speed. But best of all, with CrossOver Mac you operate in a Mac environment, with your normal Mac mode of operation. There is no Windows to learn! And while CrossOver Mac does require a separate purchase it is only a fraction of the cost of a copy of Windows. Click here to see how easy it is!
