The choice is yours…

From beginning sewers to experienced drafters and designers, there’s a product that will help you be as creative as you want to be.

PatternMaker on a PC

PatternMaker will run on any computer running Windows 98 or higher – Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista/Windows7 have all been tested. The basic installation of the PatternMaker engine requires approximately 25MB of disc space; add-in garment collections require about 3-5MB each.

In Windows Vista, PatternMaker must be installed in an administrator’s user account. In addition, on some Vista systems it is necessary to run PatternMaker in “XP Compatibility Mode.”

PatternMaker on a Mac

We don’t yet have a native Mac version, but here are a few options: (see overview at http://www.codeweavers.com/products/differences)

1. Dual-booting or virtual machine: We have a number of customers who are using PatternMaker on a Mac with BootCamp or with a Windows emulator such as Virtual PC or Parallels. The program reportedly runs fine, although it may be sluggish. Both of these options require a copy of Windows.

2. Running Wine/CrossOver: PatternMaker v7 has been certified as Silver Standard with CrossOver for Mac. A copy of Windows is not necessary; all you need is your Intel-based Mac, a copy of CrossOver and a 2-button mouse.
