Basic Reader

PatternMaker Basic Reader is a free, lightweight utility specifically for printing the add-in patterns.

The Basic Reader includes three custom-fit patterns at no charge: women’s pants and a fitting bodice, and a set of interchangeable collars that can be added to the bodice or other patterns. You can continue to use these patterns for as long as you wish, for free! There are no other patterns included with the Basic Reader, but you can make other garments by purchasing the add-in garment collections.

Features

After your pattern is drawn on the screen, you can:

• examine your pattern using Pan and Zoom
• arrange the pieces for printing using Move, Rotate, and Erase
• use on-screen tools like the page grid, alignment grid, and yardage grid
• use 8 snap modes to help in selecting and moving objects
• compare different sizes or style options using layers
• see how many pages are necessary for printing
• print to any Windows-compatible printing device
• print the entire pattern, or only selected pages
• estimate fabric yardage

PatternMaker Basic Reader will print your pattern full-size on any Windows-compatible printer or plotter, with alignment marks to help assemble multi-page printouts.

PatternMaker Basic Reader does not include the CAD features (drawing/editing capabilities) of the higher program versions. If you want to make any style/design changes to a pattern other than the built-in options, you must have the Deluxe Editor or higher versions of the PatternMaker engine.

Any time you install the PatternMaker engine, whether from the web or from a CD, it automatically starts as the Basic Reader. When you purchase the Deluxe Editor or higher, there’s no need to reinstall—you simply receive a code that unlocks the features of that version. You can also request a temporary code for a 30-day trial of one of the higher versions.
